UPDATE: Thursday, July 02. 2020
Dear Harvest CFC Family,
We love and miss all of you and we can’t wait to get back together again in person. As our province has now moved forward with Stage 2 of the relaunch plan we are very hopeful that we will be able to meet again soon. However, as the health and safety of our staff and members remains our utmost concern we have adapted a SLOW, SURE & STEADFAST approach to our reopening strategy. This means we remain SURE and CONFIDENT that the Lord goes before us and that we can trust him to grant us the Faith and Wisdom we need to stay in step with the Holy Spirit in the day’s ahead. Being STEADFAST is a declaration of our COMMITMENT to proceed intentionally through whatever processes and stages we need to in order to reach our destination safely. We will be intentional and methodical but also we will take it SLOW. One of our prophetic team recently shared a picture they had of a sea faring vessel approaching the lock system at the the Suez Canal which requires that the ship takes on board a Pilot who is well skilled in navigating through the various challenges that must be overcome in order to get through to the other side safely.
That’s where we are at today. We have invited the Holy Spirit to come on board as our Pilot and we have asked him to direct the next steps in our journey!
SAFETY FIRST! Please be assured that we realize each and every person at Harvest CFC has spiritual, emotional, and social needs that are best supported through regular face to face gatherings and rest assured this objective will remain our highest goal but every step we take will be prayerfully initiated in accordance with the recommended health and guidelines that our provincial Health professionals lay out for us.
Before we can connect again for indoor gatherings we must ensure we can adequately guarantee enhanced cleaning and safety protocols. With physical distancing being an ongoing safety requirement we must also rework seating and room configurations within the current capacity guidelines of our facility.
SURE AND STEADFAST STAGES: While we are fully aware that some church communities are opening up on Sunday June 28; we have decided that we would rather nor rush into something that might not be a safe as we would like or as sustainable as we had hoped. Let’s not forget that Children’s work and Nursery are not options at this point of the relaunch. Also congregational singing is still something that is being discouraged (now that’s hard for a a church like Harvest CFC that loves to sing and worship the Lord together). So, we have decided we are going to go real SLOW with a guarantee that we will evaluate the current situation on a weekly basis and then act accordingly.
Our first stages will focus on OUTDOOR Worship Services and then we will ADD other small group gatherings like regional OUTDOOR Backyard Worship, Word & Fellowship activities.
ONSITE & ONLINE WILL BE OUR ONGOING STRATEGY: Our team at Harvest CFC have been committed to producing excellent online services at our normal service times since all of this craziness began. It is our intention to continue this and to equally value both our ONSITE and ONLINE congregations as we move forward. This means that we invite all of our members and potential members to assess their comfort and risk level and then determine the level of involvement they would be comfortable with. Some may choose to only be involved Online, others might connect with a small groups in one of our regional Backyard Gatherings while still others are ready to jump back into a regular Sunday worship experience when available. Whatever you chose we will do our utmost to provide powerful, anointed worship and relevant and meaningful messages both Onsite and Online. Our ministry team will continue to offer prayer and support in both settings. For those in vulnerable categories, we encourage you to continue joining us Online.
Hopefully this helps you understand what we have in mind as we continue to move through the challenges ahead. Once again we do thank you for your willingness to keep giving to the mission, ministry and our ongoing commitment to the message of Grace and Truth at Harvest CFC. We value your prayers, we are thankful for your patience and we trust that we will all be led forth by God’s presence and power in the days ahead.
