WORSHIP LEADERSHIP MENTORING
LEADER: Margaret Graham, Worship Pastor
Worship is one of our primary values at Harvest CFC. Jesus gave us clear instructions about what worship really is in Matthew 22:37 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Worship as the way we communicate our love towards God. In essence worship is like our bridge between Man and God. Christ and the Finished work on the Cross was the Bridge between God and Man. While there are many personal ways to demonstrate our genuine love for God on a daily basis, one avenue of worship that helps many people to express their heartfelt love for God, is the avenue of singing songs that testify about God’s love for us and that reciprocate our love for God. David, the writer of many of the Psalms in the Old Testament said it best in Psalm 147:1 “Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!”
So, at Harvest CFC we love to start every service with a time of corporate singing as an act of worship and praise to our God. Over the years many, many people have been greatly encouraged and had genuine encounters with God in the midst of our set worship times at Harvest. These times of corporate worship are often punctuated with other Spiritual gifts; a life-giving scripture reading, an encouraging word of knowledge, an edifying prophetic word, an opportunity for healing or a time for personal prayer. These very intentional times of worship are so pivotal to all that we do as a church community.
THIS IS WHERE OUR WORSHIP LEADERSHIP MENTORING PROGRAM COMES IN!
Every week at Harvest CFC our corporate times of praise and worship are led by one of our worship leaders and a worship team. Our worship leaders and our worship team members are not just song leaders and musicians but are first and foremost worshippers themselves. That is they have learned the value of spending time loving God and understand what it means to be loved by God. Our worship mentoring program, under the direction of Margaret Graham, has produced many worship leaders over the years and many worship team members have grown to become excellent vocalists and musicians as they have been nurtured in their gifts and skills at Harvest CFC. The blessings of having a strong Worship Mentoring Program at Harvest has had far reaching effect! The program has been the incubator for many worship leaders and musicians over the years who have gone out from Harvest to help encourage other churches and ministries both nationally and internationally.
