WHO IS JESUS?

Just a snapshot about the Jesus we follow!

JOHN 3:16 (MSG)

This is how much God loved the world: He gave His son so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

Who Is Jesus?

We hear so many questions about God and Jesus. In fact everyone asks the bigger questions like, “Is God real?” “Is it really possible to know him and have a relationship with him?” and “If he’s so good and really cares, how come so many bad things still happen to good people and even to people who call themselves Christians?”

The truth is the questions we may have about God and Jesus are endless and actually even the bible doesn’t answer all of the questions we may have! One thing that the bible makes very clear is that God sent his only son, whom we know as Jesus, into this world to live among us so he could truly help us and understand us and our many questions, fears and doubts! As we learn more about Jesus we discover that he could totally relate to us and that he would eventually show us a new way of living in a world with too many unanswered questions.

In the book of Matthew, chapter 16 verse 16; Jesus get’s quite excited with his friend and follower Peter. In a moment of inspiration Peter suddenly declares to Jesus that he believes Jesus “is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God”. That was a life changing moment for Peter because it was the very first step of faith that would begin to change his life! That realization about his friend Jesus being the messiah (the savior) and the Son of God, radically shaped his future! Yes, he still had lot’s of questions and he definitely made some fairly obvious mistakes in his journey with Jesus. Peter’s faith grew as he believed and followed Jesus; he watched Jesus love the unlovable, forgive the unforgiveable, heal the broken and give so much hope to so many hopeless people! Peter watched Jesus live a sinless life and he watched him willingly sacrifice His life so that all sin (yes, all my sin’s and all yours) could be forgiven.

Peter was also there when Jesus rose from the dead and then had the privilege of seeing Jesus up to heaven! Peter was also there with the other disciples when Jesus sent the gift of the Holy Spirit (his abiding presence and power) to empower Peter and the other disciples to tell others about WHO Jesus is and what he can do for everyone who believes in him and follows him! The Good News message about Jesus has literally transformed and helped billions of lives since those early days of Peter and the disciples. The reason your reading this webpage is because we at Harvest CFC have believed the transformational message of Jesus and are so excited to share it with you.

Peter’s journey began with a simple step; he believed in WHO Jesus said he was and that was enough for Peter. Today you too can take the same simple step in getting to know WHO JESUS IS! Simply believe and speak it out that, “Jesus is the messiah, the Son of the living God!”

We will leave you to ponder this great quote from C.S. Lewis, a well-known Christian author, wrote of Jesus, “Either this man was, and is, the son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronising nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”
